KaD Models & Prototypes, a CNC milling and turning shop in Alameda, CA, partnered with Fictiv to address the typical machine-shop challenges of inconsistent work pipelines, time-consuming quoting, and cash-flow constraints. KaD joined Fictiv’s manufacturing partner program (Fictiv’s CNC machining service) to access a vetted network, outsource quoting and customer support, and participate in a more collaborative community of shops.

Fictiv routed customer orders directly to KaD without bidding, handled quoting and support, and offered flexible job acceptance and seven-day payment cycles. As a result of the Fictiv partnership, KaD completed over 450 jobs and generated more than $700,000 in revenue in 18 months, reduced overhead, improved cash flow, and used the proceeds to purchase another CNC machine.
