Case Study: m'Chel Haircare achieves prototype-to-full-scale production of the Day After Brush with Fictiv

A Fictiv Case Study

Preview of the m’Chel Haircare Case Study

From Prototype to Production for Bestselling Haircare Company

m'Chel Haircare, founded by Michelle Kim, set out to commercialize the Day After™ Brush—a sustainable, non‑toxic dry‑shampoo applicator—but struggled to find a manufacturing partner that could handle prototyping, low‑volume production, design‑for‑manufacturability guidance, and scale. m'Chel turned to Fictiv for help; Fictiv supported the project with services including prototyping, tooling, injection molding, overmolding, 3D printing, bristle grafting, and supply‑chain management.

Fictiv delivered end‑to‑end solutions—DFM guidance for 20 tools, validation testing, color matching, and logistics—bringing the concept from ideation to engineering, testing, and full‑scale manufacture. Fictiv built roughly 90% of the Day After Brush (manufacturing the entire bill of materials except the powder), executed complex production across 120+ parts and 20 tools, enabled an initial low‑volume run (3,000 units) and completed prototype, tooling, and production within a year, while providing quality control and global supply‑chain support.
