Mizuho Americas needed to modernize and digitalize its client onboarding, KYC and enterprise data management to replace legacy, manual and siloed systems and to speed onboarding while maintaining regulatory compliance as part of its “One Mizuho” initiative. The bank selected Fenergo and its Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) automated KYC/onboarding solution to centralize workflows, rules and documentation across business lines.
Fenergo deployed its CLM platform on-premises for Mizuho Americas’ banking business (phase 1 go‑live Sept 2020) with a phased rollout into the securities business (planned July 2021) and broader regions thereafter, leveraging its rules engine, workflow automation and APIs to create a single data repository. The Fenergo implementation reduced onboarding friction, accelerated processing of low- to medium-risk clients, freed resources for high‑touch servicing, and now supports about 10,000 accounts and more than 60,000 subaccounts—benefits Mizuho expects will cut onboarding times, improve data quality and drive long‑term operational cost savings.
