ShiftX is a SaaS provider of process modeling and improvement tools for ecommerce, fulfillment, manufacturing, and other process-heavy businesses. They needed a cloud-native database with relational capabilities, native object references, temporal storage and the ability to run both in Fauna Cloud and on-premise so they could support large enterprise customers. To meet those requirements ShiftX selected Fauna (FaunaDB) and GraphQL.

Fauna delivered FaunaDB and GraphQL, providing ACID transactions, consistent indexes, joins, native object references, temporal snapshots, a composable query language, and hierarchical multi-tenancy with metering. As a result, ShiftX accelerated time-to-market, reduced database traffic through combined GraphQL resolvers, provisioned new tenants with a single database query, ensured safe customer isolation, and gained the flexibility to sell both cloud and on-premise deployments—enabling growth into larger enterprise deals.
