A School Uses Fat Pipe WARP to Create a Reliable and Flexible Connection to the Outside World

Educational Institution, a private school in Calne, Wiltshire with 280 pupils (350 total users) and 100Mb to the desktop, faced bandwidth inefficiencies and frequent surges in demand that their three separate 8Mb ADSL lines (~20Mb total) could not handle reliably. The IT department needed better utilization of existing connections and protection against line failures, so they turned to FatPipe Networks and its FatPipe WARP appliance to address capacity and reliability issues.

FatPipe Networks deployed the FatPipe WARP to aggregate the dissimilar lines, providing load balancing, automatic failover and WAN redundancy so the school could use the combined bandwidth more effectively and maintain service if a line failed. As a result, students, staff and parents retain 24/7 access to the internet and the school’s secure intranet, downtime has been eliminated, the network now copes with daytime and evening surges, and the solution is easily scalable so the IT team can focus on strategic priorities.
