OFX, an international financial transfer platform based in Sydney, Australia, processes more than $22 billion annually through its web application and needed a security solution that was easy to deploy, easy to use, and able to automatically block malicious traffic without disrupting production. After a full three-year migration to the cloud, OFX turned to Fastly to improve visibility and protection against OWASP attacks and authentication abuse across its cloud-first microservices and APIs.

Fastly implemented the Fastly Next-Gen WAF with lightweight agents on OFX web servers, giving the team deep application visibility and quick deployment in minutes. Using Fastly, OFX uncovered application errors faster, improved QA monitoring with dashboards, and created custom Power Rules to detect and block suspicious login activity with no false positives. The solution also supported penetration testing validation and helped confirm that malicious attempts would be stopped effectively.
