Case Study: Magnolia achieves secure, scalable digital experience delivery with Fastly

Magnolia, a digital experience platform provider with hundreds of enterprise customers and partners worldwide, needed a way to simplify infrastructure management and improve content delivery as it expanded its PaaS offering. It wanted an embedded CDN and stronger cloud security to meet customer demands for better caching, DDoS mitigation, certificates, and WAF protection, and Fastly was selected as the vendor to support that vision.

Fastly implemented its CDN and later the Fastly Next-Gen WAF at the edge, giving Magnolia API-first delivery, scalable traffic handling, and automated security controls. The result was fewer false positives, strong OWASP Top 10 and DDoS protection, automated certificate management every three months with Let’s Encrypt, and easy alerting via Slack and dashboards in Magnolia’s UI; Magnolia also reported running the WAF in full-blocking mode for most customers.
