Dansons, the maker of Pit Boss Grills and other outdoor cooking products, wanted to replace a third-party mobile app with an in-house experience that could deliver faster, more responsive grill control and give its IT team better access to usage data. To do that, Dansons turned to Fastly and used Fastly’s Compute and Fanout for its Grill Connect™ technology.

Fastly helped Dansons move app-to-grill communication to the edge, cutting data transfer times by 5 to 7 times and reducing lag to just a few milliseconds for real-time temperature, doneness, and power controls. With Fastly, Dansons also gained actionable data for diagnostics and future product improvements, while Fastly’s Enterprise Support provided quick technical help and rapid incident resolution.
