Brandfolder is a digital asset management platform that helps thousands of companies organize, store, and distribute brand assets at scale. As its Smart CDN grew, Brandfolder needed to speed up image ingest, improve real-time content delivery, and reduce the overhead of eagerly transforming and storing assets. Fastly’s edge platform and Image Optimizer became core to that workflow.

Fastly helped Brandfolder move image transformations and watermarking to the edge, enabling on-demand processing, faster purging, and better shielding across Google Cloud and AWS. The impact was significant: 95% of JPEG and PNG images were processed in under 5 seconds, ingest times dropped sharply, and storage and egress costs were reduced. Fastly also supported Brandfolder’s development workflow with Terraform and Fiddle, helping the team streamline thumbnailing and roll out changes more consistently.
