Anchor is a developer-friendly hosted service for encrypting applications and infrastructure, helping developers set up TLS and X.509 certificate management quickly without the burden of running an internal PKI. As a young company, Anchor needed a scalable, high-performance infrastructure for its encryption service and was looking for an edge-based KV object store with the programmability, availability, and security to support rapid growth.

Fastly implemented Fastly Compute and Fastly KV Store to power Anchor’s caching layer and global storage, allowing Anchor to add its own authentication and access-control logic close to the edge. With Fastly, Anchor gained high availability, developer-friendly tooling, and the ability to test and deploy with confidence. The result was a more secure, performant, and scalable encryption service, with Fastly delivering the flexibility and support Anchor needed to serve customers reliably.
