Case Study: Maritz achieves easy-to-manage enterprise web security and PCI compliance with Fastly Next-Gen WAF

A Fastly Next-Gen WAF Case Study

Preview of the Maritz Case Study

Maritz Achieves a Security Win with an Easy-to-Manage Next-Gen WAF

Maritz, a holding company that provides research, loyalty and incentive programs and handles credit card data subject to PCI DSS, needed a single, easy-to-manage web application firewall across diverse business units and technology stacks. To meet PCI DSS requirement 6.6 without hurting performance or adding operational overhead, Maritz selected Signal Sciences (now part of Fastly) to provide a next‑generation WAF deployed directly to web servers.

Signal Sciences’ agent/module was rolled out as a 5% pilot and expanded to cover up to 90% of Maritz’s applications, delivering no noticeable performance impact while integrating with Maritz’s SIEM, providing automatic blocking, virtual patching and application-layer visibility. The deployment eliminated the expected need to hire additional FTEs, sped up investigations and mitigation (replacing weekend manual fixes with automated blocks), and gave teams actionable threat data that enabled broader, faster adoption.
