Cobalt Robotics, a developer of security robots designed to be approachable and safe for human environments, needed precise, high-quality cosmetic plating and sensor mounts that matched exact design specifications and supported rapid design iterations. To meet those needs they partnered with Fast Radius to produce critical external components using urethane casting and improved CNC master patterns.

Fast Radius implemented urethane casting, created new CNC masters, ran multiple sample-feedback cycles, and managed end-to-end logistics, delivering measurable impact: 62% savings on urethane parts, 90% savings on painting and finishing, 33% savings on 3D printing, a consistent ≥95% component yield, roughly two weeks saved per part in project time, and an overall 7% reduction in robot production cost thanks to Fast Radius.
