HellermannTyton, a leader in cable management solutions, needed low-volume production of large, complex wire routing aids for a tier-one automotive prototype under a six-week deadline. Injection molding was too costly for the run, so HellermannTyton partnered with Fast Radius and specified additive manufacturing using HP Multi Jet Fusion (HP MJF) with PA12 to meet size, quality, and timeline constraints.

Fast Radius used its fleet of HP MJF machines and partner network to print the routed sections with mating geometry, handled post-processing (dyeing, assembly, specialized shipping), and delivered parts on the aggressive schedule. Fast Radius’ solution eliminated tooling costs, saved about $950K and roughly 8 weeks of lead time, and produced 3,055 sections that were assembled into 1,235 parts within six weeks.
