The Indiana Department of Revenue faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated tax administration systems, which had been in use since 1995 and were difficult to maintain. The department partnered with vendor Fast Enterprises to implement a new, unified tax system.

Fast Enterprises implemented its GenTax solution, the Indiana Tax System (ITS), through a phased rollout over four years. This technological transformation was supported by a profound cultural change within the agency, fostering teamwork and trust in the process. The project was completed on time and on budget, resulting in dramatically improved customer service through a new online self-service portal called INTIME, which offers more options and better communication for taxpayers.
