The California Employment Development Department (EDD) aimed to replace its legacy employment tax system that supported its back-end operations. The challenge was to modernize this critical system, which managed vast amounts of tax data and interactions with millions of employers, in a cost-effective and timely manner. Fast Enterprises was selected to implement a solution using its GenTax® software platform.

Fast Enterprises successfully delivered the Automated Collections Enhancement System (ACES) project on time and within budget. The solution replaced 21 legacy applications, integrated a comprehensive suite of tax and workflow management tools, and provided a new online portal for employers. The results were exceptional, with the system processing $1.7 billion on its largest revenue day and the project paying for itself through generated benefits within 18 months. This implementation by Fast Enterprises was awarded two national awards for excellence in government IT.
