Newburgh Enlarged School District Turns to Faronics for Windows Program Management

Newburgh Enlarged City School District faced a significant challenge locking down student workstations across its 22 buildings. Their existing solution using Microsoft Group Policies was complex, inflexible, and decentralized, creating a heavy management burden for its IT staff. The district required a simpler, more scalable way to control computer functionality to ensure computers were used appropriately for instruction.

The district implemented Faronics WINSelect, finding it powerful yet intuitive to use. The solution integrated easily with their existing infrastructure and was managed centrally via Faronics Core Console. WINSelect empowered teachers to control their own lab environments, drastically reducing the IT support workload. As a result, Faronics provided a perfect complement to their Group Policy environment, allowing the district to securely manage over 3,000 workstations without compromising their Active Directory server.
