ABS-CBN Corporation, a leading Philippine multimedia conglomerate, was facing significant IT challenges within its Post Production department. Issues like unauthorized software changes, system misconfiguration, and persistent computer downtime were hampering productivity. With no standardization policy, these problems led to frequent and lengthy IT interventions. The vendor, Faronics, was engaged to implement its Deep Freeze solution to address these issues.
By deploying Faronics Deep Freeze, the workstations were frozen to a desired state, eliminating problems caused by accidental or intentional changes. Any alterations made during a user session were simply removed upon reboot, allowing facilitators to restore systems themselves. This solution drastically reduced the need for IT support, cutting down restoration time from over four hours to a simple reboot and reducing the required staff from 4-5 people to just 1-2 for special occasions. The department now only performs twice-yearly maintenance, significantly lowering operational costs and minimizing lost productivity.
