United Grinding began upgrading their customers’ legacy controls using FANUC’s Panel i Replacement Program

United Grinding North America, the North American support arm for Walter Grinders, needed to modernize its legacy grinder controls. Its older DOS- and Windows 7-based systems were becoming obsolete, slower, and could no longer be upgraded to Windows 10 for IoT connectivity or meet cybersecurity requirements.

FANUC America Corporation provided the Panel i Replacement Program to replace the outdated controls with faster, more current hardware and software. The upgrade increased processing speed, enabled Windows 10 for IoT, and improved cybersecurity, helping United Grinding offer a broader retrofit path for its customers’ legacy machines.
