Northern Kentucky Machine boosts capacity and quality with FANUC robots

Northern Kentucky Machine (NKM), a flexible CNC machining job shop, faced chronic labor shortages and production-constraining capacity limits. To scale its operations without sacrificing quality, NKM partnered with FANUC and its authorized system integrator, Automation Within Reach, to deploy robotic automation using the FANUC M-20 robot.

Automation Within Reach implemented a turnkey RC-2 CNC machine tending system powered by FANUC robots, which integrated easily into NKM's workflow. The solution resulted in faster production, more consistent part quality, and the new ability to run longer "lights-out" jobs. This boosted throughput and utilization, freed workers for higher-skill tasks, and provided the company with the scalable capacity needed for growth.
