A FANUC America Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Lincoln Park Boring Co Case Study

Lincoln Park Boring Co. invested in a new boring-mill machine from Fives with a FANUC control to hold tighter tolerances and accommodate rapid travel rates for faster machining

Lincoln Park Boring Co., a family-owned manufacturer of large parts and metal fabrication equipment, needed to move beyond legacy machines as it expanded into new types of work and larger part sizes. To meet changing customer demands, the company turned to FANUC America Corporation and a new boring-mill machine from Fives equipped with a FANUC 0 i F CNC control.

FANUC America Corporation helped deliver a customized control setup that supported both manual operation and fast low-volume setups, including a tailored interface with a separate joystick and speeds-and-feeds controls. The new machine improved efficiency, expanded capabilities, and enabled tighter tolerances and faster rapid travel rates, and Lincoln Park Boring Co. has since chosen to retrofit another legacy machine with FANUC controls.
