Lincoln Park Boring Co., a manufacturer of large machine parts, needed to upgrade its legacy equipment to handle new types of work and meet demands for greater accuracy, repeatability, and ease of maintenance. The company partnered with FANUC America Corporation and machine builder Fives Group to implement a solution using a FANUC 0i-MF Plus CNC control.
FANUC and its authorized integrator customized the control's human-machine interface with a subplate and joystick, allowing for flexible manual operation and quick setups. The solution provided by FANUC enabled Lincoln Park Boring to achieve tighter tolerances, faster machining speeds with rapid travel rates, and increased overall efficiency. The success led the company to retrofit another legacy machine with FANUC controls.
