Preview of the Kemco Manufacturing Case Study

Kemco’s new automated process using a FANUC robot to tend three machine tools equipped with FANUC CNCs increased efficiency and production resulting in new business

Kemco Manufacturing needed a way to stay competitive on a large aerospace machining contract while maintaining high, consistent quality and accurate part production without manual intervention. Working with FANUC America Corporation and its authorized integrator Industrial Tool, Inc., Kemco turned to automation and machine tending using FANUC CNCs and robotics.

FANUC America Corporation helped Kemco implement an unattended robotic cell built around a FANUC M-710iC robot with 3D vision tending a lathe and two mills equipped with FANUC 0i-F CNCs. The system improved productivity and efficiency, standardized training and operations, and delivered repeatable high-quality parts with no human touches in the cell, helping Kemco win the aerospace supplier contract with a competitive quote and adequate margin.
