Inland Packaging cuts staffing from 2 to 1 per line with FANUC America Corporation

Inland Packaging, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of labels and packaging, faced labor constraints and limited floor space that prevented the use of a standard end-of-line solution. Manual packaging and palletizing required two employees per line, making it difficult to scale production. They partnered with FANUC America Corporation and its authorized system integrator, DEVELOP, to implement a custom robotic packaging and palletizing cell.

DEVELOP engineered a compact robotic cell using FANUC robots, including the LR Mate 200iD and M-710iC/45M, designed to fit within the available space. The solution reduced staffing requirements from two operators to one per line while increasing output and capacity. It exceeded uptime and cycle time goals, achieving a cycle time of 4.2 seconds against a 4.5-second target. This allowed Inland to redeploy employees to other areas and drive sustainable growth without adding headcount.
