Flex-N-Gate, an automotive manufacturer focused on car bumpers, needed a better way to inspect product quality without relying on expensive camera setups or taking up valuable factory space. The company also wanted a solution that could work safely alongside employees and reduce downtime. FANUC America Corporation provided a collaborative robot solution, including the CR-7iA cobot, to support these inspection needs.

With FANUC America Corporation’s cobots, Flex-N-Gate replaced multiple fixed cameras with a single camera mounted on a robot that could move to inspect the process, cutting equipment costs and simplifying quality checks. The collaborative robots also eliminated the need for cages, saved floor space, improved worker safety, and helped keep downtime very low. Flex-N-Gate reported that the FANUC robots were easy for operators to work around and dependable in daily use.
