GNC automates depalletizing with FANUC to handle 15,000–28,000 daily pieces

GNC, a leading global health and wellness brand, faced significant congestion and inefficiency in its Indianapolis distribution center due to a labor-intensive manual depalletizing process. The task required six to eight employees daily and created an inconsistent product flow. To address this challenge, GNC partnered with vendor FANUC America and its authorized system integrator, AWL, to implement an automated solution using FANUC R-2000iC/190S industrial robots.

The solution involved deploying two robotic depalletizers, which automated the manual task and freed employees for more meaningful work. This implementation by FANUC and AWL resulted in a reliable and predictable flow of products through the facility. The success of the project allowed GNC to repurpose its associates into higher-value roles and achieve a marked increase in overall productivity.
