Orange Morocco, part of the Orange group and the second-largest mobile operator in Morocco, wanted to make prepaid top-ups faster and more secure for customers. The challenge was that customers still had to give their phone number to agents, which could lead to errors and create privacy concerns. Famoco provided the dedicated Android-based devices used for Orange’s SmartRecharge service.
Famoco enabled Orange Morocco’s SmartRecharge solution by equipping agents with secure, easy-to-manage Android devices that can instantly read NFC SmartRecharge cards or stickers linked to each customer’s phone number. This removed the need to share phone numbers at the counter, making top-ups secure, immediate, and personalized. By April 2017, SmartRecharge had been deployed in over 30 cities in Morocco, improving the top-up experience for both customers and retailers.
