SpotCash, a mobile money and agency banking provider in Kenya, needed a secure and affordable way to extend banking services such as balance inquiries, cash withdrawals, deposits, and loan applications to remote areas where traditional bank branches are scarce. To support large-scale NFC-based banking access, SpotCash turned to Famoco and its FX100 mobile device platform.

Famoco supplied the FX100 with NFC, Android, and remote device management via the Famoco Management Suite, enabling SpotCash to deploy a secure mobile banking application to agents in the field. The solution improved access to banking services for customers, streamlined registration and transactions, enabled receipt printing via Bluetooth, and allowed SpotCash to manage its device fleet remotely in real time.
