An access control solution for Maasai Mara with KAPS

Kenya Airports Parking Services (KAPS) is East Africa’s premier provider of parking, access control, and revenue management systems. When KAPS was chosen to manage revenue collection for the Mara Conservancy in Maasai Mara, its officers were using mobile phones to issue and scan tickets, but the devices were difficult to manage remotely, allowed non-work apps, and created data and control issues.

To solve this, Famoco provided dedicated Android devices with over-the-air management that integrated KAPS’s access control and revenue collection application. With Famoco, officers could scan QR-coded tickets and process payments more efficiently, and the park’s authorities gained full control over the device fleet. The solution has been used for around two years and processed over 1 million transactions, helping KAPS improve access control and revenue collection across the Maasai Mara Reserve.
