A secure solution that has improved patient’s pacemaker monitoring

MicroPort Cardiac Rhythm Management, the French subsidiary of MicroPort Inc. specializing in cardiovascular devices, needed a better way to monitor patients with pacemakers remotely. Its existing bedside monitoring device was fixed in place, had limited Bluetooth range, offered no display for patient interaction, and raised concerns about battery drain and data security. Famoco was brought in to help with a mobile, secure alternative.

Famoco provided the FX105 mobile device, running on Famoco OS, along with MDM management, docking accessories, and custom staging and packaging services. The pocket-sized device enabled patients to move freely while maintaining a stable Bluetooth connection and reducing pacemaker battery consumption, while also improving data sovereignty and security. The rollout has been significant, with 15,000 FX105 devices already deployed across North America, Japan, Europe, and Australia, and plans to reach 61,000 deployed units by 2023.
