A FAMCare Case Study
Holy Cross Children's Services (HCCS), a faith-based nonprofit serving more than 1,000 children daily across ~30 Michigan sites, faced growing difficulty aggregating client, program and facility data because each site used inconsistent tracking methods. Although the State had implemented Global Vision Technology’s FAMCare platform and HCCS served as a beta site, limited access to the state‑hosted system, changing regulations and auditor concerns over data control created a need for an in‑house, customizable solution.
HCCS contracted with Global Vision Technology to develop an internal, web‑based case management system built on the FAMCare platform that preserved compatibility with the State data structure while enabling local customizations. The new system automated uploads to the State, fed medical progress notes into a Medicaid billing module that auto‑populates forms, preserved the December 2005 billing cycle, and delivered 24/7 access with robust reporting. As a result, FAMCare’s in‑house deployment improved cash flow by accelerating Medicaid reimbursements, captured services that had gone unsubmitted, reduced duplicate data entry, and put real‑time reports and KPI tracking into staff hands.
