Case Study: TOTVS achieves scalable, cross-platform replication and high performance with FairCom’s c-tree Server

TOTVS, a Brazilian leader in enterprise management software, needed a cross‑platform, high‑performance database solution to power its Advanced Protheus ERP (application server, thin client, database and APO repositories). To meet requirements for replication, portability and scalable distributed data access across Windows, Linux, Sun, AIX and HP platforms, TOTVS partnered with FairCom and adopted FairCom’s c‑tree Plus and c‑tree Server products.

FairCom implemented a linked DLL/SO version of c‑tree Server integrated with the TOTVS Application Server for a single‑executable model (ideal for customers up to ~30 clients) and jointly developed an Enterprise model using a Master Server plus in‑memory “Memory Servers” and FairCom’s Notification subsystem for asynchronous replication and synchronization across multiple application servers. The FairCom solution delivered simplified installation, cross‑platform support, unmatched performance and “significant scalability enhancements” cited by TOTVS, and is now used in TOTVS’s largest customer implementations.
