c-treeACE provides Schuyler House with a strong, flexible database to meet healthcare’s business and clinical needs

Schuyler House, the developer of the SchuyLab laboratory information system used by healthcare and veterinary labs worldwide, needed a fast, highly available and secure database to protect patient data, ensure data integrity across regions with intermittent power, support online backups and encryption for regulatory compliance, and offer flexible licensing to serve both commercial and no-cost deployments. To meet these requirements they evaluated and selected FairCom and its c-treeACE multimodel database.

FairCom implemented c-treeACE—providing ACID transactions, hot (online) backups, data-at-rest encryption and a record-oriented API that allowed Schuyler House to migrate in about a weekend. The deployment eliminated time-consuming index rebuilds, enabled precise roll-forward/roll-back recovery, produced a vast reduction in support costs, and delivered flexible licensing and strong technical support—results that made SchuyLab faster, more reliable and easier to deploy globally.
