BoxWorks Technologies builds customized, automated inventory and material-handling software (including its Echo WCS™ product) for distributors and major brands like Anheuser-Busch and Coca‑Cola. Facing hundreds of simultaneous inventory-report requests and the need for real-time shop-floor visibility, BoxWorks needed to combine legacy non-relational data with modern SQL/PHP interfaces without rewriting existing code—so they turned to FairCom and its c-treeACE® database engine (v10).

FairCom implemented c-treeACE with relational multi-record-type support to map proprietary ISAM/NoSQL records on the fly into virtual SQL tables, preserving legacy interfaces while enabling SQL/PHP access and supporting 300–500 concurrent connections. The deployment (including new Unix shared-memory support) cut inventory-report times from about three minutes to just over one minute—a reported 300% performance gain—allowing distributors to generate hundreds of reports multiple times per day and delivering significant time and cost savings.
