Money Magazine wanted to recommend the best U.S. travel destinations for 2016 based on lodging value across the top 100 most popular cities. To evaluate variety, volume, cost and quality of accommodations, they partnered with Onboard Informatics and Factual, leveraging Factual’s Global Places product and its Extended Attributes for Hotel Data.
Onboard Informatics used Factual’s Global Places and its hotel attributes plus geospatial processing to quantify accommodations within 10 miles of each city and produce breakdowns by star rating of average low/high room price, lodging type, and average customer rating weighted by review volume. With this data from Factual and Onboard Informatics, Money Magazine published Best in Travel 2016, giving readers concrete price and rating metrics to compare value across destinations.
