First Data, a global technology leader in financial services, needed to give small‑ and medium‑business merchants deeper local benchmarking and more granular business categorization in its Insightics solution. To fill that gap, First Data selected Factual and integrated Factual’s U.S. Places (part of Global Places) plus Extended Attributes for restaurants, hotels, and healthcare providers to improve geographic segmentation and merchant classification.
Factual’s data—offering over 460 categories and category‑specific attributes like cuisine, ratings, and price range—enriched First Data’s merchant records and enabled Insightics to deliver finer, locality‑specific benchmarks. As a result, Insightics can now show, for example, how an Italian restaurant performs against other Italian restaurants nearby, giving merchants clearer, more actionable insight into their performance versus the local market.
