Cornerstone Christian Academy’s Successful Communications Strategy and Virtual Learning Plan

Cornerstone Christian Academy, a K–8 independent Christian school in Sugarland, TX with 311 students, faced the sudden need to shift instruction, admissions, and communications when COVID-19 closed campuses. Although already committed to enriched academics and student support, the school needed a clear, unified way to move to distance learning and keep families informed without overwhelming them.

Cornerstone implemented a Virtual Learning Plan and a COVID‑19 Updates hub on its modern website, used Google Classroom integrated with FACTS SIS and the FACTS Family Portal, deployed 1:1 devices with hard‑copy backups, and funneled all messaging through a single approval process. The result was a smooth transition praised by many parents (some preferring it to local districts), continued admissions outreach via website content and virtual materials, sustained operations through FACTS tuition tools, and clearer communication and roles that reduced confusion during the crisis.
