Sporting Kansas City, a professional soccer club playing to sold-out crowds, faced a training challenge: fast onboarding of seasonal and volunteer NPO concession workers with high turnover. Traditional PowerPoint and instructor-led sessions weren’t retained, leaving new staff unprepared during busy events and hurting the fan experience.
Sporting KC partnered with CD2 Learning to deliver mobile-first, simulated courses—videos, POS and safety simulations, game-based lessons, assessments and gamification—built and updated through CD2’s authoring tools. The result: higher staff confidence and mastery, fewer errors and accidents, faster transactions, reduced service failures, increased revenues and proven ROI, with plans to expand the program to full-time staff.
