Candler Oil Company, a heating oil distributor in Lynchburg, Virginia, had been relying on manual processes for oil delivery, ticket handling, pricing, invoicing, and filing since the mid-1980s. The company wanted to reduce operating time and costs, eliminate the need to search for lost tickets, and lessen the impact of staff absence or turnover.
Candler Oil implemented FACTOR’s FuelTrak, which automated dispatch, delivery, ticket processing, and invoicing. With the system in place, A/R invoice entry dropped from over 6 hours a day to 15 minutes a day, 50 daily deliveries were fully processed by 10:00 AM the next morning, and lost or misplaced tickets were completely eliminated. The company also saved over $16,000 annually in postage and materials, and said productivity decline from employee absence or turnover was significantly reduced.
