Danfoss, a major industrial equipment manufacturer, faced the challenge of reducing energy consumption across its production facilities to meet its carbon-neutral goals. A significant issue was managing the high energy costs from equipment left on standby mode. To address this, Danfoss partnered with Factbird to gain detailed, machine-level insights into their energy use.

Factbird implemented its Duo energy meters and a digital dashboard to monitor consumption in real-time. This solution provided clear data comparing energy use to production output, revealing that standby power was equivalent to that of 9 Danish households. Based on these insights, Danfoss identified opportunities to shut down equipment, saving 77% in standby power on the piloted machinery and achieving an overall 33% reduction in equipment energy consumption, advancing their sustainability and cost reduction targets.
