Upgrading to LED Lighting in Housing, Parks, and Roadways

The customer, Joint Base Langley, a United States Air Force base, faced the challenge of upgrading lighting across its housing facilities and surrounding areas. The vendor, Facility Solutions Group (FSG), was enlisted to perform a large-scale LED lighting upgrade for 1,430 homes to reduce energy and maintenance costs.

FSG's solution involved relamping all interior and exterior fixtures with energy-efficient LEDs and installing new fixtures in public buildings, parks, and street lights. Through their Power of Light financing program, FSG provided the funding, requiring no out-of-pocket investment from the customer. The project replaced 867 fixtures and 67,986 lamps, resulting in significant energy savings of $819,773.
