Train Repair Facility Receives New LED Lights With Advanced Controls

New Jersey Transit sought to improve energy efficiency and operational insight at its Meadows Maintenance Complex, where the outdated high-pressure sodium lighting was due for an upgrade. The vendor, Facility Solutions Group, was selected to implement a modern LED lighting system with smart sensor-based controls to address this challenge.

Facility Solutions Group replaced 451 old fixtures with new LED high bays that use 67% less energy. The solution included smart sensors for task tuning and occupancy detection, along with a dedicated network for monitoring. This upgrade resulted in validated annual energy savings of 2,410,018 kWh, equating to over $265,000 per year, while dramatically improving light quality and providing valuable data on space utilization.
