Case Study: Darden saves over $2 million annually with Facility Solutions Group's LED lighting retrofit

Darden, the parent company of Olive Garden and Red Lobster, sought to replace its aging, inefficient traditional lighting with LED lamps to achieve significant energy savings, maintain proper interior lighting, and reduce maintenance costs. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor Facility Solutions Group (FSG) for this nationwide lighting upgrade initiative.

Facility Solutions Group executed a carefully managed solution, beginning with lab and beta testing before a full rollout to 477 locations. After an engineering firm confirmed the energy savings, it was estimated that FSG's LED implementation saved Darden over $2,000,000 annually in energy costs. The project also drastically reduced maintenance, avoiding the need to purchase approximately 200,000 lamps per year due to the new LEDs' significantly longer lifespan.
