The customer, Simon Property Group, a major retail real estate owner, faced the challenge of manually reading utility meters across its extensive portfolio of properties, a time-consuming and inefficient process. Facility Solutions Group (FSG) was engaged to provide an automated metering solution to address this issue.

Facility Solutions Group implemented a large-scale solution, installing over 6,000 networked meters from various manufacturers to enable automated meter reading. This system automatically captured data for a utilities database and was integrated with the customer's existing building automation systems. The project, which served more than one hundred malls nationwide, successfully automated the process and provided new capabilities for demand response.
