Schools System Upgrades Lighting and Controls

The New Brunswick Public Schools, a district serving over 10,200 students, faced the challenge of upgrading outdated lighting across 1.2 million square feet in 10 different school buildings. They partnered with Facility Solutions Group (FSG) to modernize both interior and exterior lighting systems to improve efficiency and reduce energy costs.

Facility Solutions Group provided a comprehensive solution, including project management, labor, and materials to install over 16,700 new LED fixtures and nearly 33,000 LED lamps. The project also included the installation of occupancy sensors. As a result, FSG eliminated the need for ballasts by using specific LED tubes, simplifying future maintenance. The wide-scale upgrade significantly cut energy consumption while maintaining adequate light levels throughout the district.
