San Antonio Installs First EVSA Electric Vehicle Charger at San Antonio Zoo

The customer, Blink Charging, was awarded a contract by the City of San Antonio to deploy new public electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Their challenge was to begin installing the first of up to 140 Level 2 and 3 DC fast-charging stations. Vendor Facility Solutions Group (FSG) was engaged as the electrical contractor to complete this initial installation at the San Antonio Zoo, which required new switchgear and electrical service.

The solution implemented by Facility Solutions Group (FSG) involved the successful installation of the charging stations. A key part of the overall program was Blink's cost-neutral ownership model for the city, which shared ongoing revenue from the chargers. The result was the deployment of the new infrastructure, funded in part by a state-wide $10.4 million program aimed at improving air quality across Texas.
