Lighting upgrade of Parking Garages, lots and adjacent structures

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the world's busiest bus terminal, faced the challenge of upgrading its lighting infrastructure with minimal disruption to its 24/7 operations. Facility Solutions Group (FSG) was tasked with replacing outdated, inefficient lighting across parking garages, ramps, concourses, and office areas, a complex project requiring careful scheduling and work in high-ceiling areas.

FSG implemented a solution by replacing high-pressure sodium and HID fixtures with over 1,800 new long-life induction fixtures and LED lighting. This upgrade provided better illumination and significantly extended lamp life. The result was a major improvement in light levels and facility appearance, coupled with substantial energy and maintenance savings. FSG's work ensured the terminal operated without disruption, and lamp life in key areas now lasts over eleven years instead of less than three.
