Case Study: Ford improves energy efficiency and workplace lighting with Facility Solutions Group

In partnership with Ford Motor Company, FSG retrofitted older, less efficient and effective lighting with new T8 and LED lamps and fixtures

In partnership with Ford, Facility Solutions Group addressed the challenge of outdated and inefficient HID and fluorescent lighting at the automaker's plants. This outdated infrastructure was consuming excessive energy and creating a suboptimal, less safe work environment for team members. Ford needed to significantly decrease its energy consumption while simultaneously increasing light levels across its nationwide manufacturing facilities.

Facility Solutions Group developed a custom lighting retrofit solution that utilized energy-saving LED technology and the existing electrical infrastructure. Working directly with Ford teams, FSG executed this nationwide program with minimal disruption to plant operations. The project replaced 116,434 fixtures, resulting in an annual energy reduction of 65,730,646 kWh and estimated cost savings of $4,430,589.
