HCA Relies on Flexible, Professional Contracting for West Houston Medical Center Expansion Project

HCA Houston Healthcare required a significant expansion of its West Houston Medical Center facility, which included 95,000 square feet of new construction and a critical central plant upgrade. The key challenge was executing this complex electrical construction for the plant without causing any interruption to the hospital's normal, life-sustaining operations. To meet this need, general contractor Skanska USA brought in Facility Solutions Group (FSG) to handle the electrical work scope.

Facility Solutions Group (FSG) expertly managed the electrical expansion, which involved installing a new, upsized main switchboard and coordinating extensively with the hospital's operations team, the utility provider, and other trades. This ensured a seamless transition to the new systems with zero downtime. The successful project allowed the medical center to add 53 licensed beds, new operating rooms, an ICU, and a dedicated cardiac services tower, greatly expanding its community healthcare services.
