FSG Upgrades Lighting And Controls

Facility Solutions Group worked with the United States Army to upgrade the lighting and controls at the historic Fort Hamilton garrison in Brooklyn, New York. The challenge was to audit and design a comprehensive retrofit across the diverse and active military base, which required navigating different building types and the complexities of a working community.

FSG implemented a solution that involved replacing 7,549 fixtures, including fluorescent, incandescent, and HID lighting in 35 buildings. The project was completed on time and resulted in significant energy savings of 850 kW, providing the army garrison with an annual energy cost reduction of $205,913.
