FSG replaced over 5,000 lamps in and around the theatre

The Walt Disney Company, as part of the "Greening of Times Square" initiative, faced the challenge of improving the energy efficiency of the lighting at its New Amsterdam Theatre. They engaged Facility Solutions Group (FSG) to perform a comprehensive lighting retrofit for both the interior and exterior fixtures.

Facility Solutions Group implemented the retrofit by replacing over 5,000 lamps. The key solution was updating the marquee and an adjacent sign with energy-efficient cold cathode lamps. This resulted in a more than 70% reduction in energy consumption and extended the lamps' usable life by up to 17 times compared to the previous incandescent fixtures.
